Mumbles piazza Thurs 7th august

​A small team of 8+1 recovering dancer+1 musician were mustered for our dance out at Oystermouth. The weather did not live up to the earlier forecast of wall to wall sunshine, but at least it wasn’t raining like it did earlier in the day!

There was a constantly changing crowd of people passing by on the newly commissioned excellent sea front cycle/footpath, some of whom stopped and watched, supplementing the numbers of people eating and drinking at Prezzo, Croeso Lounge and Bistro Pierre, and some contributed to the Bag!

Someone recently commented on social media that the piazza looks as lovely as any place in the Mediterranean, and you know what, they’re quite right!

We performed two sets of dances and managed to involve some of the audience in this as they were very eager to give the Morris a try.

Highlights of the two sets were Rigs of Doom and Vandals of Hammerwich, and Sian’s playing of an extended set of tunes, both folk and classical which she did during the interval and which brought good feedback from people watching and listening.

The recovering dancer, [Paul] managed to rupture his plantar fascia in his foot, which audibly pinged like an elastic band snapping when he was gently dancing Half Gyp in Banbury Bill. No further dancing for him now for a month or two!

Apart from that, everyone had a fine time and enjoyed dancing at this marvellous place.
