The Sweyn’s Ey Christmas Mumming Tour December 2025

We performed our 2 traditional Mummers Plays in the lead up to Christmas and you can read how we got on by going to the Previous Events page.  Sweyn’s Ey Morris have been performing these folk plays since 1978 with the Gower Play, or the Christmas Sport as it was known locally, thought to be over 200 years old. We also performed Crwmpyn John which is a play from Ynysmeudwy and Ystalyfera which has been performed from the early C20th.

This year we will donate all the money we collected when performing the plays, to Maggies Swansea, a well worthy charity that offers social and emotional support to Cancer sufferers and their families. So far we have collected £546. Below are the places we visited and performed in. We are very appreciative of the Landlords/ladies for allowing us to perform and especially so of the people who generously donated to our charity buckets. Diolch yn Fawr.
