Sweyn's Ey Morris was invited to join friends Cardiff Morris and Carreg Las Morris on Cardiff’s highly enjoyable Tour of the Valleys. We commenced dancing in Cowbridge by the Bear pub in glorious sunshine before moving on to The Boar’s Head, a worthy lunch stop at Pontyclun. Light rain greeted us at New Inn at Llantrisant, and by the time we arrived at the Carpenters Efail Isaf, it became heavier forcing us indoors.
It was really good to see old friends from both sides. Cardiff have extended their repertoire of Nantgarw dances and Carreg Las also presented a few dances not seen before as well as a few new dancers. We kept to our usual Cotswold dances doing Adderbury, Badby, Bampton, Fieldtown and Headington. It was the first time that Alison B danced out in public with us and the first time for her husband Roger, to play on a tour in public and both did extremely well. We all thoroughly enjoyed Cardiff’s tour and must do some more of this sort of thing.
