Sweyn’s Ey Morris Donate £627 to Mumbles RNLI
During the lead up to Christmas, Sweyn’s Ey Morris perform the Gower Christmas Sport and the Crwmpyn John Mummers Plays in the pubs around Gower and Swansea Valley. These old folk plays have been performed in the area by farm lads and the children of coal miners for at least 250 years and we have joyfully kept the tradition alive for the past 45! Whenever we perform at Christmas, we collect money for local charity, and this year we donated £627 to Mumbles RNLI. The photographs show our side giving the donation this morning, and the other photos are of us performing the play earlier in December. We would like to give a big thanks to everyone who watched us and made donations, and to all the landlords and landladies who allowed us to perform in their pubs!
